The May Queen is 9 year old Emma-Louise Wilding and she is shown in the centre of the photograph. Her two attendants Jessica Sumner and Kate Edge are both 6 years old.

All three girls really enjoyed the Winterbourne Down Village Carnival weekend . They had a great Bank Holiday Monday and were a carnival feature in an open top car, parading through the streets of Winterbourne Down, accompanied by children and adults in 'Children's Film' fancy dress outfits and lead by the City of Bristol Pipe Band.

The 2008 carnival was officially opened by a representative from the Jessie May Trust who crowned the May Queen and judged the fancy dress competition.
