The Charity for 2011
Our chosen charity in 2011 was Macmillan Nurses. ‘For many people affected by cancer, Macmillan nurses are a valued and trusted source of expert information, advice and support - free of charge. As of June 2010, there were 3,452 Macmillan nurses across the UK, working both in hospitals and in the community.’
Supporting Charity
The Winterbourne Down Village Carnival prides itself on the money it has helped to raise for charity. Each year charities are invited to take a stall at the Carnival for a small fee so that they can raise funds. Many local groups have raised hundreds of £'s thanks to the carnival. To find out how to book a stall see the contact us page.
Adopted Charity
Each year we adopt a charity and donate a substantial proportion of our profits to them apart from a sum we hold back each year to meet the costs of organising the carnival. We always try to support a charity with local links with the area or local residents.
