Update on the 25 th Carnival in 2013
Thanks to the effort and support of everyone concerned, the 2013 carnival was a huge success, raising money for many local charities. A large proportion of the funds raised has been donated including £1,300 to our chosen charity the Great Western Air Ambulance, £250 to both All Saints church and the Methodist church and £100 to the Hambrook School Junior Choir. This does not, of course, include the funds raised by the individual stall holders for their own much loved charities. This is what makes the time and work that goes into organising and running this event so worth while.
The 2014 Carnival Committee
At our last committee meeting we carried out the Election of Officers and Committee for the next twelve months. We are pleased to advise the following:-
Chairman: Fred Smith
Treasurer: Anthê Evans
Vice Chairman: John Turner
Assistant Treasurer: Martin Moulding
Secretary: Faye Spours
Publicity: Sue Cessford
Other members are the Assistant Secretary Steve Jenkins, Publicity Assistants Brian Serjent and Steve Jenkins.
We must say a huge thank you to Connie Jarvis who retired as Secretary this year. She has served on the committee for many years and the success of the carnival each year is in no small part due to her hard work and commitment. We will certainly miss her. We are, however, thrilled to welcome Faye who has kindly agreed to take on the role of Secretary – a mammoth task, but one we hope she will enjoy.
