Our Theme for 2009: 'Water'
We would like to invite children and adults to use their imaginations to come up with fantastic costume ideas and join the procession which will be lead by the wonderful Bristol City Pipe Band.
You could be a creature from the deep (octopus, shark etc.), Captain Hook, Captain Jack Sparrow, Nemo or Neptune, the choice is yours. It is never too soon to start thinking about your costumes, so open up those dressing up boxes and help to make our procession the biggest, noisiest, happiest and most colourful one we have ever had.

Charity for 2008: The Jessie May Trust
The charity chosen for the collection in 2008 was The Jessie May Trust, ‘a Bristol-based charity that provides a hospice at home service of nursing care and respite for children with a terminal illness’. A very worthy cause!
Many thanks also to all the organisations and companies that have provided help and support to the carnival including ABC Copiers and the Cross Hands

Why not have a look round now this site now to find out more about the history of this event and learn how you could volunteer to assist us next year. Over the years we have raised many £000's for local charities and good causes. We have also helped to build a true community spirit with a whole weekend of family fun from a barn dance to a treasure hunt to the climax of the weekend, the May Day festivities, which really showcase the best of Winterbourne Down.
We look forward to welcoming you to Winterbourne Down for future Carnivals!
