Charity for 2008:  The Jessie May Trust

The charity chosen for the collection this year is The Jessie May Trust, ‘a Bristol-based charity that provides a hospice at home service of nursing care and respite for children with a terminal illness’.  A very worthy cause!

Many thanks also to all the organisations and companies that have provided help and support to the carnival including ABC Copiers and the Cross Hands

Help Needed for 2009!

The success of the Carnival relies on small committee which meets seven times a year and on volunteers who turn out to help on the day.  We really need more supporters either as committee members or as volunteer helpers at the carnival.  Helping to man the bollards, look after the information desk or tidy up at the end of the day may only be needed for as little one or two hours.  In fact the more helpers we get the less we need each individual to do!  So why not volunteer to help in 2009 either on the committee or just for an hour or two on the day.  That way we can ensure that the Carnival continues for years to come.  If you would like to can help go to our Contact Us page.

Why not have a look round now this site now to find out more about the history of this event and learn how you could volunteer to assist us next year. Over the years we have raised many £000's for local charities and good causes.  We have also helped to build a true community spirit with a whole weekend of family fun from a barn dance to a treasure hunt to the climax of the weekend, the May Day festivities, which really showcase the best of Winterbourne Down.

We look forward to welcoming you to Winterbourne Down for future Carnivals!
